Riprendiamo il discorso delle esportazioni con i dati a tutto novembre 2006.
L’export di vino ha rallentato un po’ a +2.7% nel mese, contro il 6.5% dei primi mesi dell’anno. Un calo che e’ stato principalmente dovuto a una crescita inferiore dei volumi a +5.5% rispetto al +15% dei primi 11 mesi dell’anno. Quindi, anche nel mese di novembre si e’ verificato un peggioramento del mix di vendita, pari al 2.6%, anche se molto inferiore al trend dei primi 11 mesi, negativo per il 7.6%.
I numeri assoluti parlano di 2.6mld di euro, ai quali dovremmo aggiungere i 300m degli spumanti; arriviamo a quasi 16m di ettolitri piu’ 1m di vini speciali (principalmente spumanti).

We review export data for Italian wine up to November 2006. Export slowed down vs. the previous month in November at +2.7% (+6.5% in the 11 months). This slowdown was mainly due to a less evident increase in volumes (+5.5%). Still, in November, the sales mix was worsening with a -2.6%. Negative but less bad than the -7.6% which is still the average of the 11 months.
The absolute numbers are 2.6bn of euro, of which we should add 300m from special wine (sparkling wines). We exported 16m hectolitres of wine, plus 1m hl of special ones.

Riprendiamo il discorso delle esportazioni con i dati ISTAT relativi agli spumanti. Anche in questo caso la fonte e’ Coeweb di ISTAT. Anche in questo caso, mirerei a un aggiornamento mensile. Intanto vediamo come si e’ evoluto il 2006.

Le esportazioni di spumante (che non sono cumulate a quelle degli altri vini) sono state a ottobre 2006 (cumulato) di circa 228m di euro (contro 2362m degli altri vini). Volendo cumulare le due categorie, potremmo dire che rappresentano il 9% del totale. In termini di volumi, abbiamo esportato 138mila hl. Le variazioni percentuali sono molto positive, +13.3% per il totale, +18.9% per i volumi. Cosi’ come abbiamo visto per il resto dei vini, prezzo-mix negativo per 5.6%.

We introduce a new category of posts, regarding ISTAT data about sparkling wines exports. The source is still Coeweb. Cumulated figures to October 2006 show 228m euro of exports and 138k hl. Sparkling wines are therefore 9% of total Italian wine exports. The comparison vs. 2005 is quite positive: +13.3% in value, +18.9% in volumes. Again, as we found for other wines, the price-mix component was negative by 5.6%.

A partire da questo post, vi propongo di tenere sott’occhio una volta al mese le esportazioni italiane di vino, aggiornando sulle tendenze in atto. I dati escono con qualche mese di ritardo e riguardano in particolare i "Vini da tavola e VPQRD" e, in un’altra serie, i vini spumanti. Esiste poi una terza statistica, sempre aggiornata mensilmente, che parla di vini imbottigliati in recipienti da meno di due litri. Ho creato una categoria apposta "Export-Import". Tutti i dati vengono dall’apposito sito ISTAT chiamato Coeweb.

Dunque, esportazioni gennaio-ottobre: EUR2362m per 14.2m hl. Volumi +16.5%, fatturato +6.9%… quindi prezzo-mix -9.6%. Prezzo medio 1.7 euro al litro.

Vale la pena di vedere come ‘ andata nel corso dell’anno. Come si legge il grafico qui di sotto: riga blu, variazione sullo stesso periodo dell’anno prima del fatturato del vino all’export CUMULATO; riga verde, stessa cosa per i volumi; riga rossa, stessa cosa per il prezzo medio. La riga sale o scende? Significa che in quel mese quella tendenza si e’ accentuata o indebolita.

We start to keep under control in a systematic way the Italian export of wine. Data is avaiilable on the ISTAT internet site under Coeweb section. We have two main series of data: export of table and quality wine (excluding sparkling wines) and, in another series, sparkling wines. There is a third stat, which refers to the bottled wine, which we might use to have an idea of what happens to the more "quality" segment of the wine business.

To start with, let’s give a look to the main figures for January-October period: Italy exported EUR2362m of wine, or 14.2m hl. VOlumes were up 16.5%, sales were +6.9%… this means price-mix down 9.6% to EUR1.7 per liter. It is interesting to see how things evolved during the year. How to read this graph: blue line, change vs. the same CUMULATED period of last year of revenues in Euro; green line, same story but for volumes; red line: again, same story but average price. What does it means if the line goes up or down? It means improvement or deterioration of the trend (implying ACCELERATION or DECELERATION).
